The inaugural Sole DXB is a cultural festival celebrating Fashion, dance, music, film and much more. Developed by Sole all to serve the purpose of creating an experience for top brands and their communities across the globe. Taking place for 2 glorious days and 3 magical nights. So it only made sense that none other than we, BROKE, made an appearance with our debut showing at Sole DXB. Planting ourselves at this auspicious gathering of cultural giants. From going into fresh production to secure the necessary stock for our Sole stall to ensuring we left Klubhouse prepared for the first Thursday drop, it was all a blur. Then the last bits of preparation - fetching fits for the trip from the family, PUMA. Build-up and prep was a mission but also new business we had to stand on, and we did, the BROKE-VISA way – if you know you know.
From touch down it was Dubai Do or Die, ready to rep home, the team(Ace, Coinz, Jesse and Ayanda) made it through customs, through arrivals and then the next chapter began. We found our way to our hotels, linked up with the Cape Town homies, the OG’s and some friends from the rest of the world. Next was finding our spot at Spotlight by d3, where we showcased our collections, included some new pieces and some classic staple items. The likes of Kokoroko stopped by the stand, ,Free the Youth Ghana,Dowaap, Heskeyvetket and many more greats. Then Sampa The Great herself performed in an all BROKE fit, to close off the weekend in style, the way all performers should.
Ultimately, we came, we conquered, and left Sole DXB and Dubai knowing what it means to be BROKE. Now we go even HARDA, let’s finish the year strong!
Thank you to everyone that pulled through to the stand and helped us put it all together –Family, now and forever.
Stay Blessed
Stay Powerful,
Stay BROKE.
